On June 28^th, 2021, Preparatory Work Meeting for 2021 China (Liaoning)-Japan Economic Cooperation Conference was held in Shenyang. Representatives from provincial-level commercial administration bureaus from Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang and Inner Mongolia, as well as those from Japan-China Economic Association, attended the meeting.

Pan Shuang, Deputy Director of Department of Commerce of Liaoning Province, attended the meeting and made a speech. He said that China-Japan Economic Cooperation Conference, held 18 times already, has made great achievements since its establishment in 2000 under the mutual efforts of both parties. It has become the important platform for the economic and trade communication and cooperation between China’s Northeast and Japan. This year’s conference is scheduled to begin in Shenyang in September. The provincial-level authorities of Liaoning has been paying special attention to the conference, and hoped that all representatives from the hosting organizations of the conference would further negotiate the details of the preparatory work, making great efforts to turn the conference into a practical one to effectively promote the China-Japan economic and trade cooperation, with estimated remarkable results.    

Representatives from Tokyo Headquarters of Japan-China Economic Association attended the meeting online. On behalf of the association, Sugita Sadahiro extended great appreciation to Department of Commerce of Liaoning Province for their highly-effective, intensive, and practical preparation work for the conference. He said that the association would build close ties with all local authorities across Japan, positively organize Japanese enterprises and representatives to attend the conference, construct the platform of effective communication between administrative organs across Japan and Northeast China, promote the economic and trade communication between Northeast China and Japan, and accelerate the practical cooperation of both parties in the new era. All attending parties conducted constructive communication on the preparatory work of the conference.

China-Japan Economic Cooperation Conference is a bilateral economic and trade communication meeting co-hosted by the provincial-level government of China’s Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang provinces and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and Japan’s Japan-China Economic Association. It aims to promote the economic and technical communication and cooperation between China and Japan, especially between Northeast China and Northeast Japan. The conference is held annually in Northeast China (including Inner Mongolia) and Japan in turn. According to the schedule, the 19^th China-Japan Economic Cooperation Conference will be held in Shenyang this year from September 16^th to 17^th. Organizers will hold the opening ceremony, keynote speeches, forums, enterprise docking meeting, and visiting and surveying activities during the conference.

    Relevant officials of Foreign Investment Division of Department of Commerce of Liaoning Province also attended the meeting.
