On the morning of September 25th, Liaoning E-commerce Economic Forum, as one of the ten activities of 2021 Liaoning International Fair of Investment and Trade (LIFIT), was held in Shenyang New World Expo Center. Jia Shuying, officer from Dalian Resident Office of Ministry of Commerce, Secretary Jia Guoyong from China International E-commerce Center, and Song Yanlin, Director-General of Department of Commerce of Liaoning Province, attended the forum. Mr. Jia and Mr. Song made speeches successively, and Cai Yudong, Deputy Director of Department of E-commerce and Information Technology of Ministry of Commerce made a special video speech. Responsible persons from departments of e-commerce administration of 14 cities in Liaoning and Shenyang-Fushun Demonstration Zone also attended the forum. The forum has also invited e-commerce experts in Liaoning Province and across China, responsible persons from well-known e-commerce platforms and relevant enterprises, and representatives of comprehensive pilot zones for cross-border e-commerce in Liaoning Province to attend.
Director-general Song Yanlin pointed out in his speech that in recent years, the development of e-commerce in Liaoning Province has been fast, playing an increasingly important role in cultivating new industries, creating new needs, expanding new markets, promoting the transformation and upgrade of traditional industries, and accelerating the innovation in public services, etc. E-commerce has already become the new drive for the economic and social development of the province. In 2020, the value of online commodity sales in Liaoning Province reached 127.11 billion RMB yuan, 3.4 times more than that in 2016. There are five national-level cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zones in Dalian, Shenyang, Fushun, Yingkou and Panjin in Liaoning Province, one of the most in China. There are 21 counties in Liaoning becoming the comprehensive demonstration counties for the development of national-level e-commerce in rural areas, of which Zhuanghe County has become one of the 10 typical counties of rural e-commerce encouraged by the State Council. He hoped that relevant organizations and units shall take this forum as the opportunity, and act according to the strategic layout of "building a digital Liaoning, promoting the development of high-level intellectual manufacturing, and restructuring the structure of relevant industries" put forward by the provincial CPC committee and government to further stabilize the foundation, optimize the developing environment, make innovation and stimulate potential, introduce a series of key digital economic projects, and accelerate the development of digital economy in Liaoning to turn the province into the key area for the development of e-commerce in Northeast Asia.
