On March 18, 2025, Li Jun, Deputy Director-general of Liaoning Department of Commerce met with the delegation led by Trevor Yu, Counselor at the Embassy of Canada in China.
Deputy Director-General Li Jun warmly welcomed Counselor Trevor Yu and his delegates. In his remarks, Li stressed the close economic and trade relations between Liaoning Province and Canada, and the higher complementarity in both industries. Liaoning has a solid industrial foundation in the ice-and-snow economy and agricultural sectors, holding out great potentials of cooperation between the two sides. Li proposed strengthening mutual exchanges, exploring new areas of economic cooperation, actively circulating supply-demand cooperation intentions and relevant policies to enterprises on both sides, and pushing bilateral cooperation to a new high through specific project matchmaking and other practical measures. Counselor Trevor Yu expressed his gratitude for the support from Liaoning Department of Commerce. He hoped to maintain close working relations with the Department, deepen mutual understanding, and explore more possibilities for further collaboration.
Officials from the European and American Investment Office, the Foreign Trade Development Office, and the Foreign Economic Cooperation Office under Liaoning Department of Commerce, and officials from Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Liaoning Province, attended the meeting.
