On November 5th, during the 7th China International Import Expo, Li Lecheng, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Liaoning Provincial Committee and Governor of Liaoning Province, respectively met Veronika Nikishina, CEO of the Russian Export Center JSC, and Sergey Vereshchagin, Chairman of the government of Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia, in Shanghai at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).
Li Lecheng stated that this year marked the 75th anniversary of China-Russia diplomatic relations. The two heads of state had conducted numerous meetings and achieved crucial consensuses, and provided direction and impetus for China and Russia to further deepen comprehensive strategic synergy and intensify local exchanges and cooperation. In the past two years, Liaoning's economic and trade cooperation with Russia has advanced steadily. And at the same time, people-to-people and cultural exchanges have yielded fruitful results. Especially, Liaoning successively held two sessions of the China-Russia Local Investment, Development and Trade Cooperation Conference. In this way, Liaoning has created a high-level platform of opening-up for the sake of practical cooperation between China and Russia. At present, Liaoning is thoroughly implementing the spirits of President Xi Jinping's crucial instructions, making arduous efforts to carry out the three-year action plan for revitalization and new breakthroughs in all aspects, and thus bringing about new prospects and changes in various undertakings. It is hoped that under the guidance of the important consensuses reached by the two heads of state both sides will strive for win-win development in a broader range of fields and better serve the strategic synergy between China and Russia. Liaoning will keep on building a market-oriented, law-based and internationalized business environment so as to offer services of high quality for a variety of enterprises to develop their business in Liaoning.
During the meeting with Veronika Nikishina, Li Lecheng stated that Veronika Nikishina was an old friend of Liaoning. It was hoped that the Russian Export Center JSC could further enhance economic and trade relations with Liaoning and promote people-to-people and cultural exchanges. Furthermore, both sides would collaborate to make the Russian Food and Culture Festival (“Made in Russia”) more vibrant and influential. Thereby both sides continuously deepened mutual understanding and strengthened the friendship. Veronika Nikishina responded that the Center would not only actively support the establishment of the permanent Russian National Pavilions in Shenyang and Dalian, but also worked closely with Liaoning to hold the Russian Food and Culture Festival (“Made in Russia”). In this way, more achievements would be made in economic, trade, cultural, sports and other fields.
During the meeting with Sergey Vereshchagin, Li Lecheng stated that Liaoning was willing to cooperate with Krasnoyarsk Krai to implement the cooperation projects as quickly as possible, reinforce industrial connections and people-to-people exchanges in culture and tourism, boost cooperation and joint scientific research among universities, and actively construct a cooperation platform to deepen exchanges at multiple levels. Sergey Vereshchagin further stated that he would vigorously explore the shared interests between the two sides, deeply tap the potential of cooperation in agriculture, industry, cultural tourism, education and other fields, and promote investment cooperation and trade exchanges among enterprises, so as to better benefit the people in both regions.
