Hao Peng, Secretary of the CPC Liaoning Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of People’s Congress of Liaoning Province, met with the delegation led by Stefan Borgas, CEO of RHI Magnesita, in Shenyang.

  Hao Peng extended a warm welcome to the delegation led by Stefan Borgers for their visit to Liaoning to deepen practical cooperation. Hao Peng noted that RHI Magnesita stands as the world's largest and longest-standing refractory materials enterprise. As early as in 1996, RHI Magnesita made its investment in Liaoning. Over the past 30 years, it has consistently been committed to the Liaoning’s market. At present, RHI Magnesita has established the world's largest single refractory materials facility and its Asia-Pacific R&D center in Liaoning, achieving mutual benefits and win-win results through its cooperation with Liaoning. Moreover, Liaoning boasts more than 25% of the world's magnesite reserves. In recent years, Liaoning has centered on the efficient development of magnesite resources, and accelerated the transformation of the magnesite industry towards a high-end, intelligent, and green development. This will bring us vast opportunities to deepen our cooperation between the two sides. At present, Liaoning is thoroughly implementing the important speeches and instructions made by President Xi Jinping during his inspection in Liaoning. Meanwhile, Liaoning is making arduous efforts to carry out the three-year action plan for revitalization and new breakthroughs in all aspects, maintaining its favorable momentum of economic development, and striving to secure a decisive success in all-out efforts in the defining year. We will firmly implement the spirit of the important speech delivered by President Xi Jinping during his meeting with representatives of the international business community. Moreover, we will further expand high-level opening-up, actively address enterprises’ concerns, safeguard fair market competition, and create a favorable business environment. All of these efforts will enable foreign-funded enterprises, including RHI Magnesita, to share the fruits of Liaoning's revitalization and development. It is hoped that RHI Magnesita will leverage its Asia-Pacific R&D center established in Liaoning and Liaoning's abundant scientific research resources to strengthen cooperation with Liaoning in the field of scientific research. We encourage RHI Magnesita to jointly tackle key and core technologies, collaborate to improve the level of scientific and technological innovation in the magnesite industry, expand its investment in Liaoning, and set up more production lines of high-value-added products in Liaoning. In this way, RHI Magnesita will facilitate Liaoning’s efforts to further extend, supplement, and strengthen the industrial chain of the magnesite industry, so as to ultimately transform the "world-class resources" into a "world-class industry".

  Stefan Borgas expressed his gratitude to Liaoning for the great support to the development of RHI Magnesita and commended Liaoning on its latest heights in economic and social progress. He noted that Liaoning has a sound industrial foundation, an excellent business environment, and a robust development momentum, and that RHI Magnesita is full of confidence in its development in Liaoning. In the next phase, building on the strong foundation of previous cooperation, RHI Magnesita will further expand its business footprint in Liaoning.
