To further expand the international trade markets (with Thailand as the core) in SE Asia, and help enterprises of Liaoning cooperate with new clients in the region for placing new orders of international trade, Liaoning economic & trade delegation paid a visit to Thailand from March 10th to 12th. With a tight schedule, the delegation met Sani, former Speaker of the Upper House of Thailand, and responsible persons of local governmental agencies, trade organizations, and industrial associations such as Thai ministries of commerce, industry, and agriculture, Asia International Trade & Investment Chamber of Commerce, Thailand SMEs Association, and Liaoning Chamber of Commerce in Thailand, etc., and held an economic & trade communication and promotion conference, and a ceremony for signing a strategic agreement on economic & trade cooperation to strengthen the bilateral economic and trade communication, with the aim of making great breakthrough in the field of trade cooperation. 

　　The conference was a great success. ASEAN countries have been one of the key import sources of Liaoning. The same total import and export value of Thailand to Liaoning has reached over 10 billion RMB, ranking the 3rd among all ASEAN countries. Both sides have spacious space for deeper economic and trade cooperation, as well as complimentary developing features in many industrial fields. Thai governmental agencies and business circles have paid great attention to the visit of the delegation as well as this conference, Jarupan, Deputy Director of Trade Promotion Department of Thai Ministry of Industry, delivered a speech in the conference, saying that Thailand is willing to conduct economic and trade cooperation with Liaoning governmental authorities and enterprises, and deepen the industrial communication between both sides. He introduced in detail the import and export standards of Thailand for various types of commodities, and encouraged Liaoning enterprises to conduct different kinds of trade activities in Thailand. Director General Song Yanlin made a keynote speech during the conference, making a comprehensive introduction of the developing situation of Liaoning's economy and society, the key fields and products for trade cooperation with Thailand, and the developing advantages and key industrial projects of Shenfu New District and Liaoning FTZ, to all representatives of the business circles of Thailand. Representatives of many governmental agencies, organizations and enterprises such as Liaoning Chamber of Commerce in Thailand, Shenyang Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Xiliu Market of Haicheng, and Xinlongjia Modern Agriculture Co. also made promotional speeches for further trade cooperation, receiving positive responses from all participating enterprises in Thailand. Traveling from faraway places to attend this conference, the Thai enterprises brought many agricultural product samples with them such as durians, mangosteens, green grapefruits, longans, and dried mango, etc. Xiliu Market of Haicheng and Xinlongjia Modern Agriculture Co. also brought their product samples and promotion boards to conduct deeper communication with Thai enterprises. All attendees were conducting intimate communications and agreed to make initial plans for further cooperation. 

　　Both sides signed cooperative agreements. During the conference, Shenyang Municipal Bureau of Commerce and Asia International Trade & Investment Chamber of Commerce signed a strategic cooperation agreement to promote a series of economic and trade cooperation activities such as “Promotion of Thai Brands in China (Shenyang)” and “Shenyang Brands Promotion in ASEAN Countries”, etc.  

　　This conference highlighted the five main features of full preparation of enterprises, high-level initiative of participation in the relevant activities, various kinds of exhibits, in-depth negotiation, and the combination of field investigation and in-conference communication, and built a platform for Liaoning enterprises to expand their markets in SE Asia and to effectively conduct economic and trade cooperation between Liaoning enterprises and ASEAN countries.
