Established in 1995, Hamriyah Free Zone has been affiliated to the government of Sharjah, and it has been the second largest industrial free zone in the UAE. Located alongside the coast of the Arabian Gulf and the Arabian Sea, it connects the three continents of Europe, Asia and Africa, offering an excellent transportation channel for all countries across the world. With an area of about 260 thousand m2, Hamriyah Free Zone now has over 6,500 enterprises from 163 countries. The free zone mainly offers land, warehouses, factories, offices, seaports, dockyards and many other world-class facilities. With the management philosophy of investor-orientation, the free zone provides services for the overseas expansion of Chinese SMEs and the establishment of branch and subsidiary companies of large Chinese enterprises. Since the year of 2012 when China and the UAE built the relationship of strategic partnership, the bilateral relations between the two countries have been developing rapidly. The UAE has been actively responding to the proposals of China, becoming one of the founders of AIIB, as well as becoming one of the most important countries along "the Belt and the Road".
On February 16th, 2019, the delegation of the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority from the UAE came to Liaoning to conduct activities of economic trade. Dai Yulin, Vice Chairman of Liaoning Provincial CPPCC met the members of the delegation in Shenyang Friendship Hotel. After meeting each other, Liaoning Provincial Department of Commerce and Hamriyah Free Zone Authority signed a framework cooperation agreement.
On February 17th, 2019, the delegation attended Cooperation Conference of Liaoning Free Trade Pilot Zone and Hamriyah Free Zone held by Liaoning Provincial Department of Commerce, Liaoning Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Committee for Liaison with Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese of Liaoning Provincial CPPCC. During the conference, Wang Jingming, Deputy Director of Liaoning Provincial Department of Commerce made a detailed introduction to the basic situation, main construction content and the developing direction of key points relating to Liaoning Free Trade Pilot Zone. Hamriyah Free Zone Authority also made a systematic introduction to the basic situation of the free zone for the attendees, and answered the questions of them. From February 18th to 19th, 2019, the delegation came to the Dalian and Shenyang parts of China (Liaoning) Free Trade Pilot Zone successively to pay an on-the-spot investigation.
